About the Event

Join us for opening night at the Matheson History Museum Mary Ann Coffrin Gallery for a first look at A Journey from Arrival to Self-Sufficiency, the story of five refugee families' experiences as told through drawings by Terrence Ho and Narrative by Lauren Poe.


Lauren and Terrence both work with the Greater Gainesville International Center (GGIC) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to resettle families from Afghanistan, Guatemala, Venezuela and Ukraine between July 2024 and January 2025.


The event is free and open to the public. The opening reception will begin at 7pm on Wednesday, May 14 an run for several months. This exhibit is made possible from a major contribution from Satchel's Pizza and the Kundiman Foundation.
