Nurse helping a family

Learning to navigate the U.S. healthcare system is one of the greatest frustrations for all of us. For new arrivals to our community, it is exponentially more difficult. Language barriers, unfamiliar insurance and enrollment paperwork, trouble finding a provider who is accepting new patients, limited transportation, and uncertainty about which benefits a family qualifies for mean that many families go without critical healthcare, even though the resources and support exist within our community.

You can help address this need by becoming a volunteer Healthcare NaviGator. You will receive training from local experts and then be paired with a family to guide them and connect them with the resources and benefits they need. The training is free to attend. Speaking another language is a bonus, but it is not required.
